Airborne Dosage Rate of Radiation in Nature Observation Facilities

Results of Measurements of Airborne Dosage Rate of Radiation in Nature Observation Facilities (7/23)

Upon conducting the above-mentioned measurements on Monday, July 9th andThursday, July 12th, 2012, all facilities were found to fall below the criteria for determining initiation of decontamination proceedings of `less than 0.23 micro-sievert/hour at 1m above-ground' as determined within the decontamination guide for municipalities identified as heavily contaminated.

3 Ibaraki Prefectural Nature Observation Facilities

  1. Ibaraki Prefecture Residents' Forest and Ibaraki Botanical Garden (Naka)
  2. Ibaraki Prefecture Okukuji Recreational Forest (Daigo)
  3. Ibaraki Prefecture Suigo Residents' Forest (Itako)

Measurement Date

Monday, July 9th andThursday, July 12th, 2012

Measurement Locations and Method

At each facility 10 locations, such as the common spaces and garden walks (2nd survey), were measured at 1m above ground and the average value was calculated.
