Is there special education for disabled children in Ibaraki?
For children with handicaps that prevent them from attending regular Elementary and Junior high schools, there are a number of different opportunities, with a variety of programs offered. In each school there are a number of special programs, with different systems, depending on the level of disability. Children with mild handicaps may attend special classes offered in regular elementary and junior high schools

To attend a special school, you must apply for admission through the Board of Education. Applications for admission into Special Elementary and Junior High Schools must go through the Board of Education in your city, town, or village. You will receive a notice from the Office of Local Education in Ibaraki of your designated school. Applications for high school-aged students with disabilities will be screened by each special school individually.
Parents or guardians of children attending a Special Education School are entitled to a grant, depending on family income.
