Transportation
By train: *Take a Tsukuba Express train from Ueno and get off at Tsukuba Station.
By bus: *Take an Express bus bound for Tsukuba center from the Yaesu south exit of Tōkyō station and get off at Tsukuba center. It takes 70 minutes.
*Take a Kantetsu bus bound for Tsukuba University Chūō from the
JR Tsuchiura station west exit and get off at Tsukuba center. It takes 30 minutes.
By car: *10 minutes from Sakura Tsuchiura I.C. on the Jōban Expressway. Use the Tsukuba parking lot 1 or 2. (Free parking tickets for 2 hours are available at the reception desk.)
*Handicap parking also available, and is located on the east side of the Museum.

Adult \ 300 ( ¥230 )
High & University students \ 230 ( ¥170 )
Elementary & Junior high students \ 170 ( ¥110 )
* ( ) are the per person discounted rates for groups of 20 or more.
* An additional charge is required for entry to the museum during special exhibitions.
Special discounted rates apply in the following cases:
* Seniors citizens 65 and over (show your insurance card)
* On the 2nd and 4th Saturdays of the month (except during summer, winter and spring holidays), students aged 18 and under
* School trips with teachers (must apply for discounted rates)
* Foreign exchange students in Ibaraki (must apply for discounted rates)
* Handicapped people with their accompanying people (show ID card)
* Welfare groups for children and their accompanying people (must apply for discounted rates)
* People who receive Government welfare and public assistance (must show certificate)
* Admission is free on Ibaraki's Prefectural Day (November 13)
* Museum club members of Ibaraki Modern Art Museum, Joyo Geibun and Manyu Ibaraki (show your member's card)
