STD Testing

Sexually transmitted disease (STD) is a term used to describe more than 20 different infections that are transmitted through exchange of semen, blood, and other bodily fluid, or by direct contact with the affected body areas of people with STDs.

Sexually transmitted diseases are also called venereal diseases or "Seikansensho" (性感染症) in Japanese. A list of diseases and their Japanese translations is shown below.

All health care centers throughout Ibaraki provide free and anonymous AIDS, chlamydia and syphilis testing on certain days of the week. Some centers offer consultations at night.
