Masanori Itou (ɓ 1889924–1992)

After entering the Jiji Shinpou Newspaper Company, Itou succesively became office chief of training and eventually manager. He was the first President of the Japan Newspaper Publishers & Editors Association. When sent as a special envoy to the Washington Naval Conference in 1921, he managed to get, 10 days prior its promulgation, a scoop about the Four-Power Treaty. Itou also played an active role as a military affairs critic.
