Taking advantage of the 1943 movie hit gIkoku No Okah (ˆÙ‘‚Ì‹u, or gHills of the Foreign Countryh), Yoshida went on releasing to the world about 2400 pieces of music, and accomplished the great achievement of producing more than 200 musical hits. His melodies gave comfort to the soul of many people caught in the chaos following the end of WW2, and then indirectly contributed in the creation of joy to live while giving a sense of hope. Yoshida particularly paved the way for a new and fresh musical genre in Japan, by composing various gmood balladsh and gteenage songsh during times which saw a dazzling mutation of Japan in the midst of a period of economic growth. He was presented the Peoplefs Honor Award in recognition of his vast achievements and was also made an Honorary Citizen of Hitachi City.
