Toyoda’s aptitudes, including but not limited to the reciting of Chinese of poetry during his childhood, got widely known very early. Soon Yuukoku Fujita would notice him and have him study under his guidance. He was taking part in the compiling of the Dai-Nihonshi at the Shoukoukan when he was suddenly confined to his house for misconduct. However, thanks to the good offices of sworn friend Touko Fujita, he was approved by Nariaki Tokugawa, the Mito Lord, and could resume his editing of the Dai-Nihonshi, until even being appointed President of the Shoukoukan later on. His contributions to the final touches of the compilation of the “Dai-Nihonshi” are very important.
