Hi!
September already. It seems like 2006 started yesterday and yet, in 4 months this will be another year. This summer was very hot again but some places in Japan are experiencing unusual and worrying heat. Not too long ago, Japanese people were planning their holidays in Hokkaidō to run away from the unbearable 30 degrees and more. Now, the degrees are running after them, after everyone so to speak, and it is said this is due to global warming.
How will September be? Will we experience massive typhoons and record rainfalls in Japan? Just like any country in the world, Japan is not spared by climatic change, and natural catastrophes are gaining in popularity in the news. Just like winter was apocalyptic in Niigata Prefecture this year with record falls of snow, will we have in this transitional month of September more natural disasters?
I am not trying to scare anyone here, but, as you know, we'll be changing seasons in autumn and with an extremely fast change of temperatures, who knows what Mother Nature could do.
Anyways, the change of season is also a good opportunity to talk about the beauty of autumn landscapes. Green will progressively turn into orange, red, and brown and offer us good excuses to have nice holidays in the mountains to enjoy the scenery. And if you are not planning to go to the mountains, I am sure there is a park near your home where you will be able to relax on a bed of autumn leaves. . . .
