European Vacation 2012.1.13 Elysse Hurtado

Visiting Europe again after a 15 year absence was a wonderful experience.
Of the cities I'd visited before, both Paris and Edinburgh were greatly
different than I remembered, both in a positive way. Paris' gilded streets
and fashionable citizens were a welcome change of view, but Berlin's gritty
realism was a desperately needed breath of fresh air.

Paris' Centre George Pompidou, Berlin's Hamburg Bahnhof, and Edinburgh's
Scottish National Museum of Modern Art; three of Europe's most respected
modern art galleries, all of which I had the pleasure of visiting while I
was there. From Picasso to pornography, there was enough variety and depth
to quench my creative thirst several times over, and I feel like new ideas
could simply ooze from my pores.

Though it was only a short visit, I hope to be able to return again, many
times, in the future. At any rate, now it is my job to integrate what I
have seen and experienced and start the new year off right. Happy new year
everyone.
