Shanghai Japan FC

 In China, the most popular sport is football. The income of a pro-football player is the highest among the domestic pro-sports players in China.  

 Shanghai International Football League (SIFL) is an amateur organizational league and is well-known across the nation, especially in Shanghai.

Regrettably, there’s no Chinese team in the league. SIFL teams have national flags, however, their membership remains international. For example, Big Bamboo Voodoo team’s home is Big Bamboo pub but pub companionship is made up of players from several different nations.

 SIFL is a mighty league compared with other Asian leagues. That is, Malones Shanghai Shooters FC which is the winner of the season has gotten champion at “Manila Nomad’s Cup 6’s in 2002” in Philippines. Also championed at “Bangkok International 11’s in 2004” in Thailand. Especially, Manila Nomad’s Cup is the most honored amateur football game in Asia.

 2003/4 seasonal final games were held at Temma football field on 5.June.2004. Top ranked Malones Shanghai Shooters FC defeat Japan FC as 3-1 and got a champion this year. SIFL games are held on season from September to June.

 Shanghai Japan FC were founded in 1995 in order to support the footballship of the young generation and to cooperate Japanese community also join SIFL. 50 members are registered including students who are studying in Chinese colleges. Japan FC has played games both in china and in other foreign countries. They have been the winner at J-Asia Cup 2004 in Bangkok, Thailand. J-Asia cup is a famous championship for Asian amateur Japanese football club association.

 Yusuke Matsushita(FW) who belongs to Shanghai Japan FC maid 24 goals and got a prize of top goalcorer 2003/2004 SIFL. It is the first prize since Japan FC entered SIFL.

 Malones Shanghai Shooters FC was founded in 1998 and entered SIFL. The home is Malone’s American Café. Malones Shanghai Shooters FC awayed oversea games at Manila Nomad’s Cup in 1999, and got the 3rd prize. But in 2002, they became the winner. Malones Shanghai Shooters FC flag is UK but their 26 members are from UK, USA, Spain, France, Congo, Denmark nationalities. The Manager is John Jofre(FW) and he, himself was the top goalscorer in 1995/1996、MVP in 1998/1999、also manager of the year in 1998/1999、2000/2001、2002/2003、and 2003/2004. Malones Shanghai Shooters FC recorded 20 win 20 games and nil lost games. They had big winning party at their home Malone’s American Café on 5th June.

 Shanghai Korean FC will enter SIFL, then in next season we will find 12 teams totally. We are expecting more interesting games. SIFL game progress-reports appear on a biweekly magazine, City weekend or website http://www.eteams.com/sifl. Temma football field which held the games is the magnificent greenfull place and with parking lot, kiosk and toilet available. Everybody can enjoy watching the game with a green environment.
