Volunteering for Tokyo 2020

Volunteering for Tokyo 2020

The Tokyo 2020 Games is calling out to the general public for volunteer recruitment.

Volunteer work ranges from pre-game preparations to carrying-out operations during the Games. The volunteers will have various opportunities to communicate not just with the committee staff, but also with the visitors and residents, as volunteers are expected to play an essential role in representing the image of the Tokyo 2020 Games. The Ibaraki prefecture recognizes volunteers as an inseparable part of the success of the Olympic and Paralympic Games.

It has been 56 years since Tokyo hosted its last Game in 1964, therefore participating in this process is a valuable, once-a-lifetime opportunity.
Do you wish to experience this inspirational and joyful chance to bond with the local regions, with Japan and with people of the world through being a Games Volunteer?

During the operation of the Tokyo 2020 Games, there will be two types of volunteers.

  1. City Volunteers
  2. Games Volunteers

City Volunteers will be recruited and managed by the Ibaraki Prefectural government, and the Games Volunteers are by the Tokyo 2020 Organising Committee.
